About this place
Tucked away on the 3rd floor of a building in Shinjuku-sanchome, cafe WALL draws many visitors for its seasonal 3-treat dessert platter. Arranged with petite seasonal fruit parfaits, tarts, and shortcakes on a single plate, it offers a varied taste of different sweets in one sitting. Standalone desserts include a rich daily cheesecake and crisp scones that can also be taken out, making pleasant companions for a cafe latte topped with latte art or a carefully brewed drip coffee.
Beyond tea and sweets, the kitchen provides a substantial meal selection. At lunch, set meals include a monthly toasted sandwich plate made with bread from Shinjuku bakery LaBaguette, a weekday meat platter that rotates daily, and soft omurice dressed with slow-simmered demiglace sauce—each served with a drink. For dinner, warm cocotte dishes made in Staub cookware, such as demiglace-simmered hamburg steak and white-wine-steamed shellfish, appear alongside starter platters suitable for pairing with wine or cocktails into the evening.
Furnished with wood tones and gentle lighting, the interior offers both counter seats and standard tables, making it comfortable for a quiet solo meal or an afternoon catch-up with friends. Weekend and afternoon slots frequently fill up, making an advance reservation worthwhile if you hope to settle in without waiting.
